Canada PNP Points Calculator 2026

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) add 600 CRS points — almost guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply. Check which provinces you may be eligible for.

Built for Express Entry candidates whose CRS score sits below recent general draw cutoffs, who want a faster route to an ITA through provincial nomination instead of waiting for their score to rise naturally.

CRS Points if you receive a PNP nomination

⚠️ PNP eligibility depends on many factors specific to each province. This is a general guide only. Check each province's official website for current streams and requirements.

How PNP Works with Express Entry

When a province nominates you through an Express Entry-linked PNP stream, you automatically receive 600 additional CRS points. This puts you at the top of the pool and almost guarantees an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next draw.

Key PNP Streams by Province

ProvinceKey StreamsMin CRS Needed
Ontario (OINP)Tech Draw, Masters Graduate, PhD400–460
British Columbia (BC PNP)Tech Priority, Skills ImmigrationNo min CRS
Alberta (AINP)Express Entry Stream, Rural300+

Manitoba (MPNP)Skilled Worker, International EducationNo min CRS

How This Tool Works

Based on your occupation category, current CRS score, work experience and any connection to a specific province, we suggest provinces whose published PNP streams commonly target your profile. This is a guide to where to focus your research, not an eligibility assessment.

Worked example

A software developer with a CRS score of 430 — below the roughly 470-524 range typical of 2026 general draws — checks British Columbia's Tech Priority stream, which has no minimum CRS requirement of its own. If nominated, their score jumps to 430 + 600 = 1,030, putting them at the very top of the pool for the next Express Entry round, since even a maximum general-draw cutoff sits well below 1,000.

Assumptions

  • Provincial stream availability and criteria shown reflect general patterns and can change or close intake without notice.
  • "Min CRS Needed" reflects each province's general Express Entry-linked stream and may not apply to all sub-streams.

Limitations

  • This tool does not submit applications or check real-time stream intake status — always verify directly on the relevant provincial immigration website before applying.
  • PNP eligibility depends on many province-specific factors (occupation lists, connection requirements, settlement funds) not fully captured here.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions — Canada PNP

How many CRS points does a PNP nomination add?

A nomination through an Express Entry-aligned Provincial Nominee Program stream adds 600 CRS points, which is enough to place almost any candidate above recent general draw cut-offs and effectively guarantees an Invitation to Apply at the next round.

Can I apply to more than one province's PNP?

Yes, you can generally apply to multiple provinces' PNP streams simultaneously, though each province has its own application requirements and you should review each program's rules — some require a genuine intention to settle in that specific province.

Does a PNP nomination guarantee permanent residence?

No — a PNP nomination gets you an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence almost certainly, given the 600-point CRS boost, but you still need to submit a complete PR application and pass standard admissibility checks (background, medical, security) before PR is actually granted.
